Back to Episodes91. Essential Business Phrasal Verbs with "Down"
Description
THIS IS AN ANNA WITH 2Ns EPISODE BEFORE I REBRANDED TO CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH EPISODES.
On my Instagram you voted for the next episode to be about phrasal verbs
In this episode I have chosen 4 business phrasal verbs that use the preposition "down". The preposition down can mean a few things but one the main categories is to reduce.
Remember we can sometimes find logic in the phrasal verb by looking at the preposition. So, here are the 4 we are going to look at:
- To tone down - reducir el tono
- To whittle down - reducir
- To play down - restar importancia a
- To put something down to - atribuir
I hope that you find this useful. Rememeber that it's just as important to understand these as well as to use them so that the next time you are in a meeting or on a phonecall you can figure out what someone is trying to say.
Enjoy! Anna
