SCOTT PETERSON SHOCK CLAIM: UNBORN SON CONNER PROVES "I'M INNOCENT"
Description
Scott Peterson is convicted of murdering his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son, Connor, in 2003. He is sentenced to death, which is later overturned. He is now serving life in prison without parole.
The Los Angeles Innocence Project has now filed a petition to overturn Scott Peterson’s conviction claiming scientific evidence and new witnesses Peterson's innocence.
Innocence project attorneys argue the break-in at the Medinas’ across the street from the Petersons’ and subsequent arson of the burglars’ van was not properly investigated. And further allege potential Brady violations were committed by the Modesto police and the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office.
They also argue medical research has evolved since Scott Peterson's conviction indicating Conner’s fetal growth was consistent with a date of death much later than the Prosecutors presented at trial. Prosecutors still insist Conner was likely expelled from Laci’s decaying body not long before they were found.
