4-01-18: Amber Lindamood, foster care and the system, www.handinhandkids.org
Published 8 years, 4 months ago
Description
Amber Lindamood is in a Master's program in Social Work at the UW, and she is also a Case Manager at Selah Homes, part of Hand in Hand Kids, a nonprofit foster care organization. The thing the is so unique about Amber and this work and study, is the fact that she was in foster care at 6-years old. She suffered severe neglect, malnutrition, abuse, and because of a great family who fostered her, she is very self aware. She is now one of 12 young adults with similar backgrounds, from across the US who will spend the summer in Washington DC working on policy around children and the foster care system. A wonderful young woman making a difference in the world.
