Description
Episode 069 - Marty Shea joins the show once again for more pro wrestling talk (we’ll change the subject next week, we swear!). Marty, Len & Gary talk about the monumental return of CM Punk on AEW Rampage, how this is the best time to be (or return to being) a wrestling fan, tiring of wrestling shows with no fans, comparable crowd reactions, the buildup to the Punk return, Jim Cornette’s surprising reaction, Vince McMahon and the total corporatization of WWE, comparing WWE to UFC, how kayfabe was killed to maximize profits, Vince’s legacy and his cringeworthy deal with Saudi Arabia, WWE over-scripting vs AEW’s organic approach, WWE bringing up and sabotaging NXT talent, comparing Punk’s return to other emotional moments in pop culture, content and the battle for the consumer’s attention, AEW building trust with fans and workers, Booker T’s ridiculous reaction to the Punk return, racist Vince, speculating on Punk’s booking, the future of WWE if they get sold, comparing WWE to Lucasfilm’s hits and misses with Star Wars, and more food talk (of course!).
