In May 2018, Sabrina Hendley, was pushed to her limits when her husband Mark Hendley allegedly began waving a knife during a small gathering at their home. The situation escalated when Mark attacked Sabrina's father, Mike Irwin. Prosecutors say that Sabrina then grabbed a gun and shot her husband, Mark, in self-defense.
Last year, during a 'Stand Your Ground' hearing, Sabrina's attorneys argued that she had been in fear for her life and had acted in self-defense. However, prosecutors argued that Sabrina's story had changed and that she had initially told detectives that she had wanted her husband to apologize, but when he did not, she saw a gun on the bed and took the shot. Despite her claims of self-defense, Sabrina Hendley was denied immunity.
