Work/Life Balance
Description
“Work-life balance is a term society uses to control people who don't know what they want.”
When you don’t know what you want but you still need to earn a living, it’s hard to be passionate about your work.
As an artist, everything we do is related to our work.
I’m not expecting someone that works an office job to be passionate about making sure Stan from accounting gets the necessary paperwork by 2:30pm.
I am expecting an artist to be passionate about their work.
As an artist, inspiration should strike you while you’re working.
So if you feel like stopping at 5pm but you get an amazing idea or you just start “feeling it” right at that time, you’re doing a disservice to yourself, your art, and anyone that would consume it if you stop.
When you know what you want, you don’t need to worry about the balance of it consuming your life in a negative way.
You just go after it.
