The Cincinnati Reds fell to the Miami Marlins 4-3 tonight in a tough loss marked by costly defensive miscues. A shaky bottom of the seventh inning proved to be the difference, as the Reds’ defense couldn’t hold up under pressure. Nick Martinez pitched well enough to earn a win, but reliever Graham Ashcraft surrendered two crucial runs that handed Miami the lead. Despite a towering home run from third baseman Noelvi Marte, Cincinnati couldn’t claw their way back. The Reds will look to clean up the defensive errors as they try to bounce back in tomorrow's game.
