Los Angeles, CA Surf Report for 04-22-2025

Description
Surf's up, wave riders! The Southern California coastline is serving up some sweet swells this Tuesday. From Malibu to Santa Barbara, we've got a moderate rip current situation brewing that'll keep things spicy.

Malibu and LA County beaches are looking at a solid 2 to 4 foot surf with a tasty south swell rolling in. Water temps are hovering between 56 and 61 degrees - wetsuit weather for sure. Tide riders can catch a high tide at 6:10 AM, dip low around 1:23 PM, then rise again for an evening session at 8:10 PM.

Heading up the coast to Ventura, expect similar conditions with a mixed southwest and west swell. Water's a bit chillier at 56 to 58 degrees, but still surfable. The tide chart looks almost identical to Malibu with slight variations.

Santa Barbara's southwestern and southeastern coasts are keeping things mellow with a low rip current risk. Smaller 1 to 3 foot waves powered by a west swell will provide some fun for the more casual riders.

The real action is up in San Luis Obispo, where 3 to 6 foot northwest swells are promising some serious wave action. Water's cold at 50 to 52 degrees, so full wetsuit and booties are mandatory.

Across all zones, no thunderstorms are expected, which means clean conditions for those looking to catch some midweek waves. Just remember to respect the ocean, watch those rip currents, and stay stoked!

Catch you on the waves!
