GoVols247’s Wes Rucker (from Fort Rucker Studio) and Patrick Brown (from his house across town) convened via the magic of Al Gore’s Internets to discuss star offensive lineman Trey Smith’s return to Tennessee for his senior season and what that means for the Vols.
The first segment of this episode is a general discussion on Smith’s return and the reasons he made that decision. There were risks associated with any decision Smith made, given his health situation, but when considering the pros and cons of the two choices, it’s tough to suggest Smith got this one wrong.
The second segment of this episode is the audio of Smith’s public announcement, plus interviews with Smith and Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt. Both of them had plenty of interesting things to say.
The third segment of this episode is a general discussion on what Smith’s return means for Tennessee in 2020. The returns of Smith and center Brandon Kennedy combined with the addition of five-star transfer Cade Mays from Georgia and the rest of the returning talent up front means a special season could be in store for the Vols up front. No wet blankets were allowed in that segment.
