Someone asked me on the TikTok LIVE Q&A last weekend if Periodontics is a dying specialty and my personal opinion is that it’s growing! My friends in Perio are doing really well, and here’s my honest thoughts on this topic:

I wish we spent a month in residency rotating on eachother’s service to intercommunicate more and teach eachother tips & tricks. This would reinforce eachother’s specialty training as well as define more scope. Very beneficial to patient care, safety, and dentistry at large.

My perspective when it comes to implants, specifically, is generally “both” and not “either/or” like everyone wants to make it. We have to think bigger than that and enhance communication if we’re going to grow. Remember: a rising tide raises all boats ⛵️
