Be careful what you wish for... When we pray, we need to check our motives because God forbid if we were to get everything we desired in prayer. Not everything we desire is good for us. Sometimes, our prayers are driven by carnal desires... desires that don't produce good things, so it's not a wonder that sometimes our prayers don't get answered. James says, "You have not because you ask not, and when you do, you ask amiss..."
