Diseases of any kind are scary things to deal with. Not being able to control the way your body reacts to certain sicknesses and not being able to control how you are exposed to that disease is terrifying to say the least. What about a disease that had the ability to kill you in less than 8 days? The Black Death also known as the bubonic plague was a pandemic that ravaged Europe throughout the 1300s all across the country. The area of Venice, Italy was specifically hit hard with this disease and a place to quarantine the sick and bring the dead was desperately needed. A small island directly south of Venice held these answers. Poveglia Island is said to be one of the darkest places on the planet with death layering this 17 acre island.
