483 The Table, the Betrayal, and the Battle Ahead (Lk 22:1–38)
Description
Wednesday, April 9: In this episode of The Daily Grind, John takes us into the quiet before the storm—Luke 22:1–38, where Jesus prepares for His final hours with both sorrow and strength. The Passover is near, and while religious leaders plot His death and Judas makes a dark deal, Jesus focuses on something else: a meal with His friends. Around the table, He redefines the Passover with bread and wine, offering Himself as the new covenant. He knows betrayal is coming, but He doesn’t withhold love. Even Peter, who will soon deny Him, is met with prayer and purpose. Jesus teaches that greatness in His Kingdom looks like humble service—not control. As He warns the disciples of coming trials, He reminds them the real battle isn’t fought with swords, but with surrender. This is the kind of King we follow—one who kneels, serves, and stays, even when everything is about to fall apart. Today, come to the table humbly—Jesus already knows your weakness, and He still invites you close.
