Climate Solutions — What They Target and What They Miss

Climate Solutions — What They Target and What They Miss

Published 1 year, 1 month ago
Description

Climate change is often framed around carbon and emissions. The real question is:
What part of the system are different "solutions"  trying to change?

In this episode, I explore a range of unconventional approaches—from atmospheric interventions to weather modification—and what they are designed to influence.

We look at:
• What each approach is targeting (temperature, radiation, weather patterns, etc.)
• How these interventions are supposed to work
• Where they may help—and where they introduce new trade-offs
• The difference between addressing symptoms vs underlying drivers

This isn't about dismissing existing approaches.
It's about understanding what different solutions actually do—and whether they solve the problem we think we're solving.

Because when the problem is framed incorrectly, even innovative solutions miss the mark.
