Behind The Battles | USS Monitor
After covering the CSS Virginia last week, we take a look at it's enemy this week. The USS Monitor was the Union's first ironclad warship. While it was famous for battling the Virginia at Hampton Roads, unlike the Virginia, the Monitor went on to fight a couple more battles. We will get into the planning and creation of the ship as well as the battles and her demise at sea.
