Story Transcript:
Sk: Ľadový vzduch sa jemne zavlnil, keď slnko začalo pomaly stúpať nad arktický horizont.
En: The icy air gently rippled as the sun began slowly rising above the Arctic horizon.
Sk: Stará chata, zastrčená medzi biele snehové pláne, bola domovom Jána a Tatiany po celé ich detstvo.
En: The old cabin, tucked between white snowy plains, had been the home of Ján and Tatiana throughout their childhood.
Sk: Žili tam so starkou, odkedy ich rodičia odišli na expedíciu a nikdy sa nevrátili.
En: They lived there with starka, ever since their parents left on an expedition and never returned.
Sk: Bolo skorej jari.
En: It was early spring.
En: The daylight in the north started becoming longer, and with it, the temperature gently rose.
Sk: Ale jarné príchute sa zjavovali len pomaly a opatrne, akoby aj zem samotná mala obavy prijať teplú slobodu po dlhých mesiacoch ľadu.
En: But the flavors of spring appeared only slowly and cautiously, as if the earth itself was hesitant to embrace the warm freedom after long months of ice.
En: Ján, the older brother, was more practical and always guarded the supplies because he knew how easily they could run out.
Sk: Tatiana však mala iné myšlienky.
En: Tatiana, however, had different thoughts.
Sk: Blížila sa Veľká noc a ona túžila ozdobiť maličkú chatku, ako to ich mama zvykla robiť kedysi.
En: Easter was approaching, and she longed to decorate the tiny cabin, as their mother used to do.
En: Ján knew, though, that consuming food for something as "nonsensical" as holidays might endanger their survival.
Sk: „Tatiana, nemôžeme si dovoliť plýtvať,“ opakoval Ján.
En: "Tatiana, we can't afford to waste," Ján repeated.
En: But Tatiana always dreamed with eyes full of hope: "We have to believe they will return.
Sk: A osláviť ich, ako si zaslúžia.
En: And celebrate them as they deserve."
En: One morning, Tatiana decided she needed to see the first signs of spring.
Sk: Aj keď sľúbila, že bude opatrná, jej detská túžba po farbách a živote ju zlákala hlboko do tundry.
En: Even though she promised to be careful, her childish desire for colors and life lured her deep into the tundra.
Sk: Nečakaná búrka sa privalila s prudkým vietorom a snehom.
En: An unexpected storm came with fierce winds and snow.
Sk: Ján, keď si všimol jej neprítomnosť, okamžite vedel, čo musí urobiť.
En: Ján, noticing her absence, knew immediately what he had to do.
Sk: S búrlivým vetrom hroziacim zničiť všetko, čo im stálo v ceste, Ján vyrazil von.
En: With the stormy wind threatening to destroy everything in its path, Ján set out.
Sk: Nechal sa viesť stopami v snehu a krikom svojej srdca.
En: He let himself be guided by the tracks in the snow and the cries of his heart.
Sk: Tam, pri vrchole malej vyvýšeniny, našiel Tatianu schúlenú, vystrašenú a studenú.
En: There, at the top of a small rise, he found Tatiana huddled, frightened
