The Bible an End-Time Safeguard, Jesus Full of the Holy Spirit didn’t discard the Bible
Psalm 119:105 KJV
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”
JESUS RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT AT HIS BAPTISM BUT HE DID NOT DISCARD THE WORD OF GOD BECAUSE HE HAD RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT. HE WENT INTO THE WILDERNESS FULL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND ARMED WITH THE WORD OF GOD TO MEET AND CONQUER THE DEVIL
Luke 3:21-22 KJV
“Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”
Luke 4:1-13 KJV
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. 5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. 8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: 10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: 11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. 14¶And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Build a wall of scriptures around you, and you will see that the world cannot break it down. Commit the Scriptures to memory, and then throw right back upon Satan when he comes with his temptations, “It is written.” This is the way that our Lord met the temptations of Satan, and resisted them.
Hang in memory’s hall the precious words of Christ. They are to be valued far above silver or gold.
Keep a pocket Bible with you as you work, and improve every opportunity to commit to memory its precious promises.
The time will come when many will be deprived of the written Word. But if this Word is printed in the memory, no one can take it from us. – {Last Day Events p. 67}
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE AUTHOR OF THE SCRIPTURES, IF ANYONE HAS THE SPIRIT OF GOD HE WILL NOT DIMINISH GOD’S WORD.
2 Samuel 23:1-2
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, 2The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
Mark 12:36
For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Acts 1:16
Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
1 Peter 1:9-11
