The Bible an End-Time Safeguard, Beware of Legalism‼️ Part 1

LEGALISM IS ADHERENCE TO THE LAW OF GOD WITHOUT A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. IT IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S LAW AS A MEANS OF SALVATION WITHOUT FAITH IN CHRIST. IT STICKS TO THE LETTER OF THE LAW AND IGNORES THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW. THE LETTER OF THE LAW SAYS  “THOU SHALL NOT KILL” THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW SAYS “IF YOU HATE SOMEONE IN YOUR HEART YOU HAVE ALREADY KILLED”  THE LETTER SAYS “THOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY” THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW SAYS “IF YOU LOOK LUSTFULLY AT SOMEONE YOU HAVE ALREADY COMMITTED ADULTERY!” ONLY CHRIST IN THE HEART CAN MAKE US FULFILL THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW!

2 Corinthians 3:6

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 

Ephesians 8:8-10

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 

Luke 18:9-14

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. 

He who is trying to reach heaven by his own works in keeping the law, is attempting an impossibility. Man cannot be saved without obedience, but his works should not be of himself; Christ should work in him to will and to do of His good pleasure…. All that man can do without Christ is polluted with selfishness and sin; but that which is wrought through faith is acceptable to God.  – {Selected Messages Vol. 1, p. 364.1}

Isaiah 64:6-7

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 7And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities

Romans 10:9-13

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 

Joel 2:32

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Revelation 12:17

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Zechariah 4:6
