The stop-and-go science of traffic light coordination in Port St. Lucie

Season 1 Episode 47 Published 1 year, 3 months ago
Description

Quite often, people think the coordination of traffic signals on the main corridors of Port St. Lucie means they'll hit a green light every time, but that's not the case.

Many factors can affect timing, and on Episode 47, we learn the ins and outs of the City's adaptive signal coordination system from Traffic Operations Administrator Paul Johnson and how it helps -- in real time -- to make traveling through PSL a little easier.

Also joining us is Tom Salvador, the City's CIP & Sales Tax Project Group Manager, who tells us how the data his team collects from the traffic system helps to make decisions about where road improvements are needed the most.
