When Miranda Corsette tragically loses both her parents, she moves in with her grandmother in Gulfport, Florida.  Miranda’s grandmother is happy to see the teen getting ready for a Valentine’s date.  Afterwards, Miranda's mood leads her grandmother to believe the teen had a great time. The grandmother is unaware Miranda did not meet another teenager, but Steven Gress, a 37-year-old man. 

3:41 a.m. the next day, Miranda Corsette quietly slips out of her home to catch Uber,  heading back to Steven Gress’ home he shares with Michelle Brandes, 35. Gress and Brandes are well known to cops and neighbors for heated arguments that often lead to violence. St. Petersburg PD has been called to their rented duplex apartment seven times this year by concerned neighbors. 

The teen spends several days with the couple, while worried texts from family go unanswered. Nine days later, on February 24th, Miranda's concerned grandmother reports the teen missing. Family members take to social media, reporting her last seen getting into an Uber early on the 15th. Loved ones say it’s uncharacteristic for Miranda to be out of contact for this long.

February 25th, St. Petersburg PD, once again called out for a welfare check by Gress’ and Brandes’ upstairs neighbor. Neither Gress or Brandes are home when cops arrive, so their landlord gives officers Gress’ phone number. Gress gives permission for police to enter over the phone, and officers find nothing amiss in the home. Where is Miranda Corsette?
