Drunk Man Tries Reaching For His Gun During Traffic Stop, Doesn’t End Well
On March 4th, 2022. Officers were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle that was committing several traffic violations, when a traffic stop was initiated the vehicle continued at a slow rate of speed until finally stopping. When officers approached the man they noticed the man's eyes to be very red, bloodshot & watery. Officers then asked him to exit the vehicle because he did not stop immediately. According the arrest report the officer stated "Based on my training and experience, when drivers come to a slow stop they may be concealing weapons or drugs". The man then became very non-compliant and refused to leave the car, then eventually leaving reaching for what was said to be a gun.
