On July 16, 2023 in Florida, officers responded to a call from Publix regarding a theft. When they arrived, management informed them that a woman had filled 18 soup cups with different soups, grabbed five boxes of chicken and numerous bags of chips, then started eating them in the store. Management confronted her about her behavior, saying that she was not allowed to consume any products until after paying, and when the woman would not produce a form of payment, they called the police.
