Fake Cop Makes Traffic Stop, Arrested by Real Cop
On 11/18/21, Police received a call about a man who was attempting to conduct a traffic stop utilizing a vehicle equipped with police lights and a Florida Sheriff's Association front license plate. In response, an off-duty deputy initiated surveillance and followed the suspect's vehicle, described as an F-150.
The suspect, aware of the pursuit, took evasive action by pulling behind a building in an attempt to conceal himself. The sergeant promptly reported the incident to our investigative unit, suspecting the false impersonation of a law enforcement officer.
Upon further investigation, it was confirmed that the suspect is not a duly appointed law enforcement officer in the state of Florida. Additionally, records revealed that the suspect lacked a valid driver's license.
Consequently, a warrant was issued for the arrest of the suspect. The individual faces charges including false impersonation of a law enforcement officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a canceled, suspended, or revoked license.
