Upon arrival, officers detected an unpleasant odor emanating from the trailer, a sentiment echoed by neighbors who had also noticed the foul smell. Curiously, neighbors reported observing Penny using the communal pool for showers during this time.
With their attempts to reach the occupants unanswered, law enforcement secured a search warrant to enter the trailer. The scene that unfolded was one of profound horror. Inside, the officers discovered the severely decomposed and dismembered remains of Anthony Mitchell in the shower. Promptly, an arrest warrant was issued for Penny Pospisil, leading to her subsequent apprehension.
