In August 2018, Chris Watts was interrogated by law enforcement after the disappearance of his pregnant wife, Shanann, and their two young daughters, Bella and Celeste. During the investigation, Watts was subjected to a polygraph test administered by FBI agent Tammy Lee. He failed the polygraph test, scoring so low that it indicated clear deception, with a reported score of -18 (anything below -4 is considered failing).
Following the failed polygraph, investigators pressed Watts for the truth. Initially, he claimed that Shanann had strangled their daughters, prompting him to kill her in retaliation. However, this story quickly unraveled under further questioning. Watts eventually confessed to murdering his entire family in cold blood.
The interrogation footage shows Watts' evolving demeanor, from calm and cooperative to visibly shaken as his lies were exposed.
