This week’s passage jumps through time like a Chris Nolan movie, introduces Moses’s brother Aaron, and gives Jethro yet another name. But the strangest moment? A sudden and oddly cryptic circumcision performed by Moses’s wife to save his—or possibly their son’s—life.
