The Dakar Rally has to be among the toughest races on the planet. Competitors are crossing thousands of kilometres, with little rest, in searing heat, over two weeks. It's not uncommon for those involved to perish. Daniel Sanders, a 30-year-old motorcyclist from the Yarra Valley has triumphed in the Saudi Arabian desert, leading from start to finish.
