Episode Details

Supernatural’s Alpha Vampire, Rick Worthy, interview 🧛🏾 Rick Worthy pours a glass of red and spills how he built the oldest monster in Supernatural on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.

Berly sits down with actor Rick Worthy, who played the Alpha Vampire in Family Matters and There Will Be Blood. LA couldn’t make it live, so she introduces Rick before the interview and joins Berly afterward to react. Rick is a Detroit native and Chicago theater veteran who has played five different Star Trek characters. His first TV appearance was break dancing on Dance Fever.

Episode Highlights:

• Rick takes the hosts up on happy hour and starts a running “ratings” gag
• His key to the Alpha Vampire: forget every Dracula you’ve seen and ask how old he really is (way older than 300)
• A red tie, a flame-folded pocket square, and inch-long fingernails that made bathroom breaks a challenge
• Why the Alpha’s fingers keep moving
• Why Guy Norman Bee is one of his top three directors, and the note that nailed the Alpha’s creep factor
• The Family Matters cage scene, some Hannibal Lecter energy, and the strap-scratching that made his mom turn off the TV
• Berly’s theory that the Alpha let himself get captured, and Rick’s verdict: “You guys should write for Supernatural”
• What’s up with those creepy vampire twins in Live Free or Twihard?
• Jared Padalecki filming Rick on his iPhone as the Alpha tosses Dean across the table in There Will Be Blood
• Rick’s spinoff pitch: an Alpha Vampire origin story, plus Berly’s idea to have him interviewed by Bram Stoker

Rick also talks about his comedy Friendship with Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson, and wishes Berly a happy birthday in full Alpha voice. Afterward, LA joins Berly to gush. Guy warned the hosts Rick is nothing like the Alpha, and Berly’s cheeks still hurt from smiling.

“I’m going to peel off your faces and drink you slowly.” – Alpha Vampire
