A recorded phone call between Kayne West and Sean Combs has been use in a new song. The recording of the call leaked on the heels of the release of Kanye’s latest song, Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine. The track features samples from the jailhouse phone call, a verse from Combs’ son Christian ‘King’ Combs, and Wests’ daughter North. As West faces backlash from ex-wife Kim Kardashian over North’s inclusion, an insider claims Combs’ now feels like “he’s collateral damage.” The source went on to say Combs’ thought the call came from a place of genuine concern for him and his family, and is now embarrassed to be pulled into the  crossfire.  

Ex-wife Kim Kardashian fights tooth and nail to keep West from releasing the song, calling the move ‘irresponsible’ and demonstrating a complete disregard for North’s future and reputation. Kardashian first reminds West that she currently owns a trademark for their daughter's name, but then resorts to an emergency mediation session with a judge, to which West did not appear. West’s X post with the song is quickly deleted, but the damage is done, with dozens of fans reposting the audio all over the internet.  

As Sean Combs’ trial quickly approaches, his defense team makes new arguments to block evidence from the court room. Combs’ team alleges the infamous video of the rapper attacking then girlfriend Cassie Ventura has been altered to misrepresent the altercation, but prosecutors claim to now have the original, unedited version from the Intercontinental Hotel. Bolstering their arguments is Combs’ damning apology video, affirming the video’s authenticity. Defense attorneys are also attacking evidence obtained in the fed’s raids, claiming they “grossly misrepresented facts” in order to obtain the warrants behind the searches.
