Healer, Exorcist, Liberator // Josiah Hagen // Mar 09 2025

Description
It seems for many people our idea of Jesus revolves very much around his teachings. We often think of him as a guru, philosopher, or mystic who gives us guidance for better living. This is certainly a significant part of his life and work, but it is far from the only thing Christ came to do.
It's been said among the four gospels, Mark's account of Jesus' life is the most "action-packed." Mark fixates on Jesus' healings, miracles, and exorcisms. He uses vivid adjectives to describe the emotions of Jesus and his audiences with words like indignant, perplexed, and astonished. Mark's Jesus hasn't just come to give motivational speeches, but to confront the devil and reclaim creation from the forces of evil.
