As we remove what hinders us, persevere through life’s challenges, keep our eyes fixed on Christ, and pursue the eternal prize, we can live faithfully and finish our race with joy.

IN THIS MESSAGE

#1 RUN THE RACE GOD HAS GIVEN YOU

The Christian life requires intentional faith and daily obedience. Every believer must personally receive Jesus Christ and faithfully follow the course God has placed before them. Your race may look different from someone else’s, but Christ calls you to keep running until the finish line. (Hebrews 12:1; Romans 6:23; John 1:12)

#2 REMOVE ANYTHING THAT HOLDS YOU BACK

Runners remove unnecessary weight so they can compete effectively. In the same way, believers must lay aside sin, unhealthy priorities, and distractions that hinder spiritual growth and wholehearted devotion to Christ. (Hebrews 12:1; Colossians 3:5-10)

#3 PERSEVERE THROUGH EVERY SEASON

The race of faith requires endurance. Whether life is easy or difficult, God provides strength for believers to remain faithful, resist discouragement, and continue doing what is right. (Hebrews 12:1; Isaiah 40:31; Galatians 6:9)

#4 KEEP YOUR EYES FIXED ON JESUS

Jesus is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. When we focus on Him instead of our circumstances, failures, or distractions, we receive the hope and courage needed to continue moving forward. (Hebrews 12:2; Philippians 3:12-14)

#5 RUN FOR THE ETERNAL PRIZE

The recognition and rewards of this world are temporary, but God’s rewards last forever. Faithful believers live with eternity in view and seek to finish the work Christ has given them. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27; 2 Timothy 4:7-8)

Do not allow distractions, discouragement, or past failures to keep you from finishing well. Remove what is holding you back, keep your eyes on Jesus, and faithfully run the race God has given you.
