Episode Details

The church's prayer after Peter and John's release from prison reveals profound insights about how believers should respond to opposition through prayer and bold witness.

• Acknowledging God as Sovereign Lord establishes His control over all circumstances including persecution
• The early church prayed for boldness to continue their mission rather than for protection from threats
• Their prayer incorporated Scripture (Psalm 2) to understand their situation within God's larger plan
• God answered by shaking the building and filling them with the Holy Spirit
• The believers spoke God's word with boldness—exactly what they had prayed for
• God's sovereignty means He works all things according to His purpose, even difficult situations
• Christians today should consider praying more for courage to fulfill our mission than for personal comfort
• The question "How does anybody do this without Jesus?" reminds us of our need for Christ in hardship
