Description
Shawn Syed of Sumer Sports took the deep dive of all analytical deep dives in trying to get a feel for how the NFL's new kickoff rule will look as they unveil it for the first time this season.
To do that, he went back to the genesis of the rule, the XFL, and charted every single kickoff play from their 2023 season.
What trends did he find? How did teams scheme up the return game, and how did they choose to cover it?
How does the rule the NFL is instituting differ from what the XFL did?
How might it impact roster construction, and the game itself? Listen in to find out!
