Jinger Duggar Vuolo joins the "Gothard Recovery Group," (what appears to be an expanding help group) . . . as witnessed by her recent publicized interview on Fox News Digital. While the enemies of God will jump all over the scandals, the internal conflicts, and the shams of Christianity, they will never be able to sort out the good, the bad, and the ugly in the mix. While it isn't our job to sort out the Gothard mess and the basic life principles thereunto, we do wish to speak to the basic biblical principles by which we may better distinguish truth and error in any ministry or system of thought. We quickly tour through the ditches of legalism, antinomianism, wrong relationships of justification and sanctification, arbitrary hermeneutics, the sovereign-controlling tendencies of man-centered doctrine, and "the Lord told me" spiritual pseudo-authority.
