In The Sin Against the Holy Spirit, Neville Goddard explores one of the most controversial biblical statements—the one unforgivable sin. Many have speculated that this refers to a moral or sexual transgression, but Neville reveals that it is something far deeper and more profound.


According to Neville, Christ is not a person but divine history inwoven in every individual. This divine story unfolds within you, culminating in the moment when you stand face to face with God, the Ancient of Days. At that moment, you are supernaturally prompted to confess the truth, and you will be asked:

“What is the greatest thing in the world?”

The Holy Spirit will prompt the answer within you:

“Faith, hope, and love, these three abide. But the greatest of these is love.”

If you respond correctly, you are embraced by infinite love and united with God forever. This moment marks your complete spiritual awakening—the realization that you and God are one.

Neville asserts that no one can truly fail this test because the response is automatic, like an echo. It is already embedded within you.
