Episode Details

Mercy is who God is. He displayed his greatest act of mercy toward us at the cross of Christ, when Jesus took our shame and guilt upon himself. God extends his undeserved mercy towards us and expects us in return to show that same mercy to others. Instead of retribution, we are to display mercy to a hostile and evil world.
Jesus teaches us in this fifth beatitude to be merciful just as he was.
