3 Powerful Principles for Navigating Complicated Soulmate Relationships [After Trauma]

Season 3 Episode 14 Published 1 year ago
Description

Sometimes, you feel called to someone in a way that defies logic. Sometimes, you feel called to someone in a way that goes against everything we're being taught about what it means to have self worth and self respect. Sometimes, that calling is stemming from trauma. And sometimes... maybe that calling is stemming from something else. Something greater. Something higher. What do you do when you don't know the difference? What do you do when you don't trust yourself to make the right choice? That's what we're talking about today.

Personally, I feel that I've made a lot of mistakes in a certain romantinc connection... but lately I've been viewing my romanctic life from the understanding that I didn't have a cookie-cutter, perfect childhood. And it's just not fair to expect perfection from imperfect people and imperfect circumstances. One thing I know for sure is: Life after childhood trauma is... messy.

For years, I tried to push away my mess in an effort to create the "perfect love story". But things aren't always black and white. Especially in relationships. Especially in relationships after traumatizing experiences.

So, in this episode, I'm teling some stories, practicing grace with myself; and expressing my vulnerabilities in a way that I don't know I have before. Tune in for 3 principles to help you navigate complicated soulmate relationships and love post-trauma. [I share the 3 principles somewhere after the hour mark LOL] Enjoy.
