NEW CLUES IN SAN ANTONIO MYSTERY OF TOT BOY’S DISAPPEARANCE: WHERE IS BABY GABRIEL?
Description
Elizabeth Johnson gives birth to a boy on May 3rd. She and Logan McQueary name him Gabriel. Logan says Johnson has trouble adjusting to motherhood. At times when Gabriel is crying, Johnson puts the baby in a room by himself, so she doesn't have to hear his screams.
After an extremely heated argument with Logan in June over her parenting, Johnson flies to Boston with Gabriel to visit her grandmother. Returning to Arizona in August, Johnson meets Tammi Peters Smith during an airport layover in Indianapolis. Johnson is crying, holding Gabriel, and Smith initiates a conversation that leads to a discussion about Smith and her husband adopting Gabriel.
Johnson returns to Arizona without Gabriel, and the baby is later found safe at the Peters Smith residence. Once Gabriel is returned to Arizona, a family court judge grants joint custody to Johnson and Logan, with Johnson having Gabriel first. When Logan tries to pick Gabriel up three days later, Johnson tells him he'll never see his son again.
Johnson initially says she smothered Gabriel and dumped his body, but Logan does not believe that's true. Police confirm Johnson drove with Gabriel from Tempe to San Antonio, Texas, and was last seen with the baby 9 days later. Johnson boards a Greyhound to Miami alone the next morning. Johnson now tells officers she gave Gabriel to a couple at a park near their hotel. Despite extensive searches and investigation, 'Baby Gabriel', who would now be 15, has never been located.
