Filmmaker Ash Avildsen joins the show to discuss “Queen of the Ring”, his passion project about the legendary Mildred Burke, a small-town single mother who dominated the sport of wrestling and became the 1st million-dollar female athlete in history. Ash talks to O’Shea and TJ about the obstacles of bringing this story to the big screen and how he was able to get some of wrestling’s biggest stars to participate. Ash also discusses his relationship with his late father, Academy Award Director John G. Avildsen, and how his childhood shaped the man, father, and filmmaker that he is today.
