President Donald Trump’s new tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada and China have taken effect, launching new trade conflicts with the top three U.S. trading partners. The White House has paused military aid to Ukraine, deepening the fissure that has opened between the two countries after Friday’s aborted talks. The U.S. is drawing up a plan to potentially give Russia sanctions relief as Trump seeks to restore ties with Moscow and stop the war in Ukraine. And Arab leaders meet in Cairo to discuss a plan for Gaza that would sideline Hamas and create interim bodies run by Arab, Muslim and Western states.
