He connects this principle to the biblical verse, “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven. If you retain the sins of any, they are retained” (John 20:23), revealing that we have the power to transform ourselves and others by revising the past and assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled.

Central to this teaching is the idea that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 9:22). Neville reinterprets this metaphorically, explaining that the "blood of Christ" represents the death of the old self—when we mentally detach from our former state and step into a new reality. The act of assuming a new identity is the psychological equivalent of shedding blood and being reborn.
