Miami’s defensive backfield continues to look much improved thanks to new personnel and coaching from Will Harris and Zac Etheridge. In Miami’s Wednesday spring football practice, young DBs like Chris Ewald Jr, Amari Wallace, Dylan Day and Xavier Lucas shined. Multiple players at defensive back and linebacker have been moving around and playing at multiple spots. Defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman says they are essentially playing “positionless” right now as he evaluates who fits best at each spot in his scheme.
Despite clear improvements on D, Miami still sees standout performances in drills from sophomore wide receiver Joshisa “JoJo” Trader.
