President Trump addresses joint session of Congress: “An extraordinary display of partisan scuffling”

Published 1 year, 3 months ago
Description

President Donald Trump spoke to a joint session of Congress last night. This was not a State of the Union address. Mr. Trump defended his policies, casting his first month in office as the most successful in history. Numerous Democrats marched out of the chamber of their own accord; by the time the address was over, their side of the aisle was half empty. The Hill called Democrats’ actions “an extraordinary display of partisan scuffling even by the standards of the polarized modern era.” When politics replace religion, there are consequences in society.
