1. 非典

“新冠”出现之前，上一个全民戴口罩的年份，要date back to(追溯到)2003年。

2003年，SARS was raging（“非典”肆虐)，很多城市的空气中was filled with the smell of  white vinegar and isatis root（充斥着白醋和板蓝根的味道）。
