Description

Hello and welcome to another episode of Lexx Education! The comedy science podcast where comedian Laura Lexx tries to learn science from her normal younger brother Ron!

It's the first winds of physics of the season and they begin by being two buff siblings, as ever, discussing squats and dead lifts. Then before physics can lift it’s vile head they are off on a LOTR conspiracy theory.

When the science starts, it starts with a mistake. No wait: errors.

They have a little bit of ground to revisit first… namely standard form. It goes wayyyyyy exactly as you’d imagine. First, Laura gets her mind blown by the idea that just because a number is minus does not mean it’s a smaller number. Honestly, for this portion, it’s like listening to one half of two different phone calls.

Then there’s a classic physics breakdown which almost ends the lesson at barely fifteen minutes in. Some yelling. Some tone. Some classic physics bants.

There’s a whole big mathsy bit in the middle. Prepare to hear ole Ronny Honks saying ten to the quite a LOT.

Then to round things off we start looking at measurements… kilos and nanos and whatnots.

The quiz is incredibly giddy - the science siblings are very Dosa giddy in a hotel room in Leicester before their live show and so the sound changes massively as does the mood.

💬 Show Notes

Welcome back to another episode of Lexx Education, the comedy science podcast where comedian Laura Lexx attempts to grasp the complexities of science with her ever-enthusiastic brother Ron!

This week, the siblings kick things off with a lively discussion about the chaotic atmosphere at home following a birthday weekend for Charlotte, the child of the podcast. Amidst the giddy banter, they dive into the world of physics, starting with a rather chaotic introduction to standard form.

As Laura grapples with the concept of negative numbers and their place in the grand scheme of mathematics, expect plenty of classic sibling squabbling. The confusion escalates as they navigate the intricacies of SI units, prefixes, and the relationship between large and small numbers, all while trying to keep their sanity intact.

With a quiz that promises to be a bloodbath, Ron tries to keep Laura on track as they explore standard form, measurements, and the various units that make up the scientific lexicon. Will Laura manage to keep her head above water, or will the physics overwhelm her?

Join us for a hilariously chaotic lesson filled with laughter, confusion, and a healthy dose of sibling rivalry. Don't forget to support us by leaving a review or visiting our Patreon page!
