The Rise and Fall of Portland’s Pamplin Family Empire

Published 1 year, 2 months ago
Description

The Pamplin family name has been significant in Portland for many decades. They’ve been credited for helping build much of what is now our city infrastructure, but also blamed for some of Portland’s ongoing environmental issues and been caught mismanaging pensions. Today on City Cast Portland, we’re talking with Oregon Journalism Project reporter Nigel Jaquiss who’s been following the heir of the Pamplin empire, Robert Pamplin Jr., for decades. He’s walking us through the downfall of a family legacy and how it’s impacted our city.
