got a promotion是“升职”的意思，还可以用“got promoted”来表达；

比如：I have good news. I just got promoted.

告诉你一个好消息，我刚刚升职了。

get a raise是表示“加薪”，比如：

I got a promotion and a raise.

我升职并且加薪了。

pick someone up表示“接某人”

比如：Can you do me a favor and pick up my son from school?
