What are the advantages and disadvantages of setting rules for children?
The good points about setting rules for them are that it makes them disciplined and that it trains their self-control which could benefit them in a long run. But the downside of restricting children is that you might cage the creativity and originality of them. Children living under tight rules are deprived of imagination and courage when they grow up. In a nutshell, I think parents should be meticulous about this issue and strike a fine balance.
