Individuals have many ways to contribute to the science world. For example, we could be the volunteers of some vaccine trials, such as the current coronavirus vaccine. Researchers couldn't complete the programs just by themselves. They need recipients that are of various ages, different genders, and different health conditions. Only in this way, can researcher acquire sufficient data to guarantee the safety of the vaccines. That trials are not 100% safe, so it is fair to call the volunteers heroes.
