A proposal from Gov. Hochul would allow police officers to cite the smell of marijuana as evidence of impaired driving. Former Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo, now with Tarian Group, says there's additional steps police will have to go through, though, and you shouldn't expect the law to come knocking on your door immediately.
